Copacabana beach: Though not as lively as the Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, it can be quite relaxing. Here you can stroll along the beach and sit at a few beach bars & restaurants, where you can sit and eat trout or have a few beers. You can also rent out a paddle boat or canoe to paddle around the lake.

 

Copacabana Cathedral: This cathedral was built in the early 1600's. Bolivians go there each weekend to visit the wood statue of the Virgin Mary, which was carved around the 1570's by an Inca. Locals believe the statue grants wishes and gives blessings for safe travel, healthy children and even automotive reliability. The cathedral also has a museum.

 

Cerro Calvario: Hike up this high hill-top to get a bird's-eye view over Copacabana and Lake Titicaca. The hiking trail starts near the catherdral and to reach the summit, you have to hike a half an hour. The hike is definitely worth it, where you'll see some amazing scenery over the town and the lake.


 

Lake Titicaca - Lago Titicaca - Bolivia, South AmericaLake Titicaca: Copacabana sits on the shoreline of Lake Titicaca. This high altitude lake is located in the Andean Mountain region and is one of the highest lakes in the world. To get there take a boat tour around the lake and see gorgeous sights or visit the many islands around the lake, that contain the most sacred Inca ruins.


 

Isla del Sol (The Island of the Sun) is an island in Lake Titicaca. It is one of the most sacred places in Bolivia. Here you will find an island with trails that contain many Inca ruins. The island is about a 90-minute boat ride away from Cobacabana.


 

Horca del Inca: This strange rock formation and has oddly arranged boulders. It is believed that it was used by the Incas to observe the sun and stars or as a sun clock. The trail is off of Calle Murillo and the hike up the trail has some steep terrain.
 

 

Bano del Inca contains a small museum that has some of the areas archaeological findings on display. Next to the museum is an Inca tunnel that contains a spring. It is believed this is where the Inca kings bathed. The site is about a 30 minute walk from Plaza de Toros, along the Titicaca shoreline
