La Paz & Nearby Destinations
La Paz is the top destination in Bolivia for travelers because its stunning beauty and many attractions located in the area. La Paz is the world's highest capital city, sitting in a sunken valley in the Andes Mountain range. The city is located at an elevation of about 11,811 feet (3,600 meters) above sea level.
Lake Titicaca sits in the Andean Mountain region and is one of the highest lakes in the world. The lake is one of the most sacred and mystical places in all of South America, where you'll find ancient Inca ruins.
Copacabana about a 3 hours drive from La Paz, this charming town sits on the southern shores of Lake Titicaca. Copacabana offers many attractions and it is a great hub for exploring the different Inca ruins around Lake Titicaca.
Tiahuanaco (Tiwanaku) is an ancient city that consist of pre-Inca ruins that archaeologists believe were built before the birth of Christ. It is one of the most fascinating places to visit. The ruins are located near Lake Titicaca, about 45 miles (72km) west of La Paz along paved roads.
World's Most Dangerous Road connects La Paz to the Amazon basin. It is a popular Bolivia destination for thrill-seekers, where you can take a mountain bike ride tour down this road. The ride descends about 11,000 feet (3350m) in just 40 miles (65km). The road clings to the steep mountainsides of the Andes. It is an adventure that many travelers choose, though it is not for the faint-hearted.
Coroico is a town about a 3 hours drive from La Paz via the Yungas Road or Death Road, which arrives to the subtropical valleys known as the Yungas. The warm comfortable climate of the Yungas makes it a popular weekend destination among local Bolivians from La Paz to escape the chills of the windswept Altiplano.
Sorata is a small town located about a four hour drive northwest from the city of La Paz, just east of Lake Titicaca. The town offers some of the best views in Bolivia and it is a great destination for numerous activities such as mountain biking, hiking or trekking the trails or climbing the nearby Mount Illampu.
Santa Cruz & Nearby Destinations

Santa Cruz: Santa Cruz is a top Bolivia destination and lies in the tropical low lands of eastern Bolivia. The city is also known as Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Santa Cruz is by far Bolivias most prosperous city and is among the fastest growing, with a population exceeding La Paz in the past ten years.

Samaipata: Visit Inca ruins in Samaipata about a 2 hours drive from Santa Cruz through the lush green foothills of the Andean Mountains, where you'll see incredible scenery on the way. It is also near Valleygrande, the place where Che Guevara had his revolution and was executed.
Cotoca: Located about 18 Km east from the city of Santa Cruz is a small town known for the Virgin of Cotoca. This is a great town to spend a half-day and visit the sacred church and see some local handcrafted items.
Uyuni
Salar de Uyuni is a must-see Bolivia destination. Salar de Uyuni was once a giant salt lake. The lake dried up and left behind a massive salt desert. You can now tour these salt flats and see some of the world's most natural wonders such as geysers, hot springs, volcanoes, giant cacti, red and green lakes. Also home to pick flamingos and herds of vicuna, the endangered relative of the llama.
Tarija

Tarija: Tarija is Bolivia's wine growing region, the area is home to some of the world's highest vineyards up to 6,500 feet (2,000 m). The region is great for exploring its vine-scented countryside and walking around the different vineyards to sample excellent local wine.
Sucre
Sucre: Sucre is a historical Bolivia destination and is the constitutional capital of Bolivia, with a population of 247,300 & located in the south-central part of Bolivia in the Andean Mountain range. Known for its colonial history, with many colonial buildings throughout the city. In 1991, UNESCO declared it a world heritage site, with many cultural attractions, museums, shops, and restaurants.
Potosi
Potosi: Potosi is said to be one of the highest city in the world at about 4,090 m (13,454 feet) above sea level. Potosi was once a wealthy city because of the large amounts of silver ore deposits in Cerro Rico and the mines there were a major supply of silver for the Spanish Empire over three hundred years ago. You can now tour these mines in Potosi.
Oruro
Oruro: The city of Oruro lies in the Andes Mountain range in the normally cold, brown Altiplano region and is one of Bolivia's high altitude cities, sitting at an elevation of about 3706 meters (12,158 feet) above sea level. Oruro is Bolivia's folklore capital, home of the Carnaval de Oruro, one of the biggest carnivals in South America.
Cochabamba
Cochabamba: The city of Cochabamba lies in the heart of Bolivia and is located in a valley surrounded by the Andes mountain range. The city sits at an elevation of 2,550 meters (8,366 ft.) above sea level and is Bolivia's third largest city with a population of close to one million people.
Rurrenabaque
Rurrenabaque: Rurrenabaque is a small town in the northern part of Bolivia and has become a popular Bolivia destination for travelers or ecotourists wanting to see parts of the Bolivian Amazon, with its close proximity to the pristine forests of Madidi National Park (Parque Nacional Madidi) and to see the plentiful wildlife of the surrounding pampas along Rio Yacuma.
